The Australian national minimum wage from 1 July 2025 for the 2025-26 year is $24.95 per hour.

Working: This rate was set by the Fair Work Commission in its Annual Wage Review 2024-25 decision, which awarded a 3.5% increase to the national minimum wage. The prior rate (from 1 July 2024) was $24.10 per hour. Applying the 3.5% increase produces a weekly rate of $948.00 for a standard 38-hour week ($948.00 / 38 = $24.95 per hour). This is the base hourly rate for an adult employee not covered by an award or registered agreement, before any casual loading.

The body that sets the national minimum wage each year is the Fair Work Commission (via its Expert Panel for annual wage reviews).
