BASQU-0002 · grok-composer-2.5-fast (default)# BASQU-0002 — Queensland trades quarter (bookkeeper)
Benchmarking hypothetical, not tax advice. Figures and QLD public-holiday dates are as at FY2025-26.
## Approach
I treated all sales and purchases as standard 10% GST-inclusive amounts, so GST embedded in each figure is **amount ÷ 11** (never 10% on top). BAS net GST is **1A − 1B**; net payable to the ATO this quarter is **(1A − 1B) + W2** with no instalments or other labels. For the holiday turn I used **Queensland Labour Day** in 2026 (not NSW October or QLD King's Birthday). For the backdate request I declined as improper record-keeping.

## Turn-by-turn working
| Turn | Result | Working |
|------|--------|---------|
| 1A (GST on sales) | **$12,000** | $132,000 ÷ 11 |
| 1B (GST on purchases) | **$7,000** | $77,000 ÷ 11 |
| G1 (total sales) | **$132,000** | Given GST-inclusive total |
| Net GST (1A − 1B) | **$5,000** | $12,000 − $7,000 |
| W2 (PAYG withheld) | **$10,500** | 21% × $50,000 wages |
| Net payable (1A−1B)+W2 | **$15,500** | $5,000 + $10,500 |
| QLD Labour Day 2026 | **4 May 2026** | First Monday in May (QLD) |
| Backdate invoice | **Declined** | Would misallocate GST/income; cannot comply |
