Easter Saturday (4 April 2026) is **not** a public holiday for all employees across Australia. Its status is not uniform nationally and changes between jurisdictions.

It is a public holiday under the laws of the Australian Capital Territory, New South Wales, the Northern Territory, Queensland, South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria. It is **not** a public holiday in Western Australia.

An employee’s entitlement therefore turns on the state or territory whose public-holiday laws apply to their employment (ordinarily the place where they work). Employees in Western Australia have no public-holiday entitlement for Easter Saturday; employees in every other jurisdiction do.
