**(a) Minimum period of notice of termination owed: 4 weeks**
Under **s 117**, an employee with more than 5 years of continuous service is entitled to 4 weeks' notice. (Although s 117(2) provides an additional week for employees over 45 with at least 2 years of service, this employee is under 45, so no additional week applies.)
**(b) Redundancy pay owed: 7 weeks**
Under **s 119**, an employee with at least 5 years but less than 10 years of continuous service is entitled to 7 weeks' redundancy pay.
