Under the *Fair Work Act 2009* (Cth):

(a) Pursuant to section 117, the minimum period of notice of termination owed is **4 weeks**. (For more than 5 years of continuous service, the base notice period is 4 weeks. Because the employee is under 45 years of age, no additional notice week is owed).

(b) Pursuant to section 119, the amount of redundancy pay owed is **11 weeks** of base pay. (For a period of continuous service of at least 6 years but less than 7 years, the scale provides for 11 weeks).
