The standard concessional contributions cap is a legislated base amount that is indexed to Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE). It only increases in set increments of $2,500. Following indexation, the cap increased from $27,500 to $30,000 effective from 1 July 2024 (the 2024-25 financial year). Because a further $2,500 indexation step-up has not been triggered or applied for the 2025-26 financial year, the baseline statutory cap remains at $30,000.
